Used Air Compressors for Sale

Used Air Compressors for Sale — Florida & Nationwide

Rotary screw and reciprocating compressors from 25 to 500+ HP — pulled from real facility decommissions, hours documented, and sold as complete air systems with dryers and receivers where available.

Below-New Pricing

Compressed air is the most expensive utility in most plants, and a new industrial compressor means months of lead time before it makes a single CFM. We sell used and reconditioned rotary screw and reciprocating compressors recovered from facilities we clear — hours documented, service history where we have it, and graded honestly. Most were under a maintenance contract right up to the day the plant shut down, which is a very different thing from an anonymous auction lot. Tell us your CFM, pressure, and duty cycle and we'll match a machine to the job instead of selling you whatever's biggest in the yard.

What We Carry

Used Industrial Air Compressors, Ready to Move.

Inventory turns over constantly as plants decommission, so if you don't see exactly what you need, ask — we source to spec through the same pipeline that fills the yard.

Why Buy From Demo Dynasty

Real Units, Honest Grading, No Broker Markup.

Below-New Pricing

A proven screw compressor for a fraction of new — and none of the factory lead time a new machine carries.

Known History

Our units come out of facilities we decommission, so we know how they ran and why they came out — not an auction lot with no story.

Hours Documented

Total hours, and loaded hours where the controller reports them. If a machine is high-hour or sold as-is, we say so before you commit.

Complete Air Systems

Compressor, dryer, receiver, and filtration together where available — cheaper and simpler than assembling a system piecemeal.

Buying Used Air Compressors for Sale

What to Know Before You Buy

Sizing by CFM and pressure, not horsepower

Horsepower is shorthand that hides the real question. What you need is CFM at your required pressure. Add up every air-using device at its duty cycle, add a realistic allowance for leakage — in an older plant that's frequently a large share of total demand — and add headroom for growth. Then set the lowest pressure that satisfies your highest-pressure device, because every extra 2 psi of system pressure costs roughly 1% more energy for as long as you own the machine.

The classic mistake is buying big to be safe. An oversized fixed-speed compressor short-cycles, burns energy running unloaded, and wears itself out faster than a properly matched unit. If your demand swings through the day, a variable-speed drive machine is worth paying more for and usually pays the difference back in energy. Send us your CFM, pressure, and duty cycle and we'll size it properly.

Don't buy a compressor without the dryer

Air leaving a compressor is fully saturated, and in Florida humidity, undried compressed air destroys tools, valves, cylinders, and paint finishes fast. A refrigerated dryer is the minimum for general industrial service; desiccant dryers are required where you need a low dew point or run lines outdoors. Add proper filtration and condensate management and the system lasts.

You also need a receiver tank sized for your demand swings — check the ASME plate and the inspection date on any used tank. Buying the compressor, dryer, tank, and filtration as one package from the same source is nearly always cheaper and always simpler than assembling it from four sellers, and it's how most of our compressor-room equipment comes out of a decommissioning anyway.

FAQ

Common Questions

What size air compressors do you have in stock?+

Inventory turns constantly as we clear facilities, typically in the 25 to 500 HP range where most industrial demand sits. Tell us your CFM, pressure, and duty cycle and we'll tell you what's in the yard today or source it through the same decommissioning pipeline that fills it — call (689) 323-4676.

How many hours is too many on a used screw compressor?+

Rotary screw airends are engineered for very long service lives, so a mid-hours machine with documented maintenance has plenty of life left. Loaded hours matter more than total hours — a unit that ran 40,000 hours mostly unloaded has less airend wear than one that ran 25,000 fully loaded. A documented airend rebuild effectively resets the clock.

Do you sell oil-free compressors?+

When we have them. Oil-free machines are required for food, pharmaceutical, electronics, and some finishing work, and they cost meaningfully more used and new. If your process doesn't actually require oil-free, a lubricated machine with good filtration is usually the better value — we'll tell you honestly which you need.

Can I get the dryer and tank with the compressor?+

Usually yes. Compressor rooms come out of a decommissioning as complete systems, so we frequently have the refrigerated or desiccant dryer, receiver tank, filtration, and controls from the same plant. A matched package is cheaper than assembling one and drops in faster.

Will you ship outside Florida?+

Yes. We're based in Auburndale, Florida and arrange rigging, load-out, and freight nationwide, or you can coordinate your own pickup. Compressors are dense and ship well compared to most industrial equipment.
